Jim Tetlow and Nautilus Entertainment Design were selected as lighting designers for the 2009 inaugural balls and candlelight dinners for the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. The project included 12 events in 9 different locations around Washington, D.C.
With celebrity hosts and performers, each venue had its own set of criteria and challenges. "The key to the success of this multi-venue project is finding good teams to work at each location," says Tetlow. "This year we were very fortunate to have a lot of talented LDs, programmers, and electricians. We were also fortunate to have worked with some great equipment vendors including several local to the Washington market." The general service contractor for the events was Hargrove Inc. As part of the Hargrove technical team, Nautilus worked with technical director Larry Estrin and sound designer Kelly Epperson.
